“not again.”

The same pieces kept appearing in different projects. Choose one to see where the idea started.

A credential manager I kept rewriting instead of improving once.

Vault gives credentials a dedicated home for people and agents, with scoped access rather than another set of secrets scattered through an app.

An agent runtime I kept inlining into otherwise unrelated applications.

Cortex is the shared runtime direction: give agent workflows a foundation, then build the useful part on top.

Start with the friction.

Inside the process

A repeated task. A missing connection. A piece of infrastructure rebuilt one time too many. Start with something that needs to work, then define what a useful result looks like.

Build with AI. Decide as a human.

Inside the process

AI helps generate the first implementation. I read the code, make the decisions, rename what is unclear and discard what does not fit. The first cut is the beginning of the work.

Make it work beyond the demo.

Inside the process

Test the behavior, check it in a running environment and keep the suite consistent. Each tool needs a clear job, understandable access and a path into the rest of the work.
